COS Senior High Retreat

A group of senior high students from the Church of the Servant had a weekend retreat at montague pied a terre the first weekend in March 2008. A hands on project was finished after many hands and many minds were put to use. The leaders for the retreat were Jack and Carol Roeda along with Minister of Youth, Judy Ko. If you "double click" the lower image, you will see the detail that went into these beautiful works and you will be surprised by what you find in the detail. These pieces are reminicient of work done by John August Swanson.

Weekend Retreat

It's amazing what you can construct when you have so many hands and an eagerness to create. The finished product should be the artwork for the front of a liturgy.

A large workspace lends itself to a meeting of the minds.

Evening is a time for discussion and reflection. It's also time for homework and a time to chill.
It appears that Carol drew the short straw and ended up with kitchen clean up duty this morning.
A cup of coffee brings contentment and a smile to Pastor Jack's face.

Special Visits

Some visitors are quite special especially when they come from so far away. But they come at the same time every year which makes it all the more special.

Butterflies

June is a wonderful time to find butterflies. They love the milkweed and congregate along Pepper's Trail deep in the woods. This Painted Lady (vanessa cardui) enjoyed posing for the camera. This one is also known as the Thistle Butterfly because the caterpillers enjoy feeding on the thistle plants. If you "click" on the picture, you'll get some amazing details of this little creature.

Special Visitors

Last fall we had two special visitors at the Montague Pied a Terre and if you look carefully, you can see the Mule that they rode in on. Actually, they also rode out of town on the same Mule. The Mule has come to be a very reliable form of transportation into and out of Montague Pied a Terre.

The SandWhichIsThere

Cost of the bread down at Plumb's Market, $1.39. Cost of the paint for the railing that Robin and Brian painted, $5.65. Seeing Brian put a leftover lasagna sandwich together after the painting of the railing, priceless. Basically, the reason that Brian will never starve to death at the cottage is because of all the sand which is there.

Sunsets and Good Times

Katie asked to be represented in the blog. For some reason she likes to hang out without shoes and socks.

Example of a sunset seen from the porch while spending time at Montague Pied a Terre. In actuality, this is photog #123,756 of sunsets taken at Montague Pied a Terre. Other sunset views can be seen at a new blog site, the address of which will be announced once enough space is found on the internet to store them.

Cottage Definition

Probably the most wonderful spot on the face of this earth to spend time.
